Rev Dr Kong Hee received Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord in 1975. After attending a small neighborhood Anglican church for the next 13 years, Ps Kong felt the call of God to start a church in downtown area of Singapore. On May 7, 1989, City Harvest Church was founded with a handful of 20 young people. Today, CHC has a membership of more than 27,000 members.

Under Ps Kong’s leadership, CHC has the largest short-term Bible school in Southeast Asia and 9 other branch schools in the Far East. CHC’s Asia and Emerge Conferences also attract tens of thousands of young people every year. Besides that, Ps Kong also founded City Harvest Community Services Association in 1997 to reach out to the less fortunate, and it touches 17,000 lives in Singapore annually, while building and running many schools, medical centers and orphanages in the slums of Southeast Asia.

As a highly-recognized and much sought-after international speaker, Ps Kong receives hundreds of invitations every year to lecture in universities, corporations, churches and conferences around the globe. He has personally spoken in 23 countries, including Canada, Hong Kong, India, Kazakhstan, Papua New Guinea, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, USA, and Ukraine.

Wanting to live out the CHC motto of kristos kai kosmos (which is to bring Christ into the marketplace and contemporary culture of society in a relevant way), Ps Kong was off the CHC payroll from 2005 to run a business with his wife. He and his wife are now co-owners of two fashion retail outlets in Singapore’s premier shopping location.

Ps Kong is married to international pop singer Sun Ho, and they have a son, Dayan.
